PAGE 1 - FACULTY OF AGRIC TO COMMISSION “FOUR RIGHT-ANGLE SIT-OUT” PROJECT FRIDAY
By: Tangi ExcelÂ
The Niger Delta University community is set to witness another milestone in student-focused infrastructural development as the Faculty of Agriculture prepares to commission the much-anticipated “Four Right-Angle Sit-Out” project this Friday.
The project, championed by student leadership within the faculty, is designed to provide a modern outdoor relaxation and academic interaction space for students.
Strategically constructed within the faculty environment, the sit-out features four neatly structured right-angled seating sections surrounding a central relaxation area, creating a balanced and accessible space for discussions, tutorials, and informal gatherings.
According to Comr. Igwe Chimezunim, the initiative was conceived to address the need for additional study and relaxation spots within the faculty. He noted that overcrowding in lecture halls and limited shaded spaces have long posed challenges for students seeking conducive environments for group study and engagement.
“This project is about improving student comfort and creating a space that encourages collaboration,” he stated. “It reflects our commitment to practical development that directly impacts students.”
Students who spoke with NDU Pulse Network expressed excitement ahead of the commissioning. Many described the project as timely, especially during peak academic periods when outdoor discussions and tutorial sessions become necessary.
Faculty officials are expected to attend the commissioning ceremony alongside student leaders and invited guests. The event will feature a formal ribbon-cutting, inspection of the facility, and brief remarks from stakeholders.
Observers say the project signals a growing emphasis on visible, student-driven infrastructural improvements within the university.

In a strongly worded statement circulated through NDU Pulse Network News, Mr. Pulse urged students to approach the election with discernment and maturity.
He cautioned against what he described as “well-calculated deceits” and emotional manipulation, stressing that leadership should be entrusted to individuals with proven capacity and integrity.
“Vote wisely, not out of sympathy,” he emphasized, noting that the association’s growth and stability depend on credible and visionary leadership.
Campaign posters and consultations have become increasingly visible across faculty spaces, with candidates presenting manifestos that focus on welfare, academic representation, and transparency.
Political analysts within the faculty describe this year’s race as competitive, with heightened student engagement compared to previous sessions.
Students are expected to cast their votes on Thursday under the supervision of the appropriate electoral body chaired by the Dean of Basic Medical Sciences.
Stakeholders have called for peaceful conduct and adherence to electoral guidelines throughout the process.
