The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) is preparing for the the “Mother of All Strikes” over FG’s failure to meet their 2009 agreements.
They’ve rejected the loan scheme, called it a Trojan gift.
ASUU’s wants payment of outstanding 4yrs promotion arrears, payment of 25-35% bonuses, 3-months salary arrears, sustainable funding, revitalization of universities and the non-remittance of third-party deductions. — As agreed in the 2009 renegotiations.
Otherwise they’d announce their next strike date on August 28th, at the crucial national meeting holding in Calabar.
Protest held in UNILAG, UNIUYO, FUOYE, UNIBADAN, OAU, ABU Zaria, ABSU, UNIBEN, UNIZIK and more.
Last month, ASUU threatened a strike over slight delay in June salay of about ₦10bn. Within 2 days, FG paid and the strike was suspended.
Now Nigerian students are begging them to atleast wait for this examination season to conclude.
Meanwhile, others think it’s a propaganda to tarnish President Tinubu’s government.
