NDU SUG BEGINS FACULTIES AND HOSTELS TOUR ACROSS NEWSITE CAMPUS

The Students’ Union Government (SUG) of Niger Delta University has commenced its scheduled tour of faculties and hostels across the New Site campus in a move aimed at strengthening communication between student leaders and the wider student body.
The tour, which began earlier today, is designed to provide the SUG leadership with a first-hand assessment of the academic and welfare conditions of students within various faculties and residential areas on campus. During the visit, members of the student leadership team are expected to interact directly with students, listen to their concerns, and observe the condition of facilities available for academic and residential use.
According to officials of the union, the tour forms part of ongoing efforts to improve student welfare and ensure that issues affecting students are addressed promptly through proper engagement with the university management.
The exercise will cover several faculties and hostels located within the New Site campus, where the SUG executives will meet with students and faculty representatives. Students are also expected to use the opportunity to raise concerns relating to accommodation, academic facilities, transportation, and general campus welfare.
Many students have welcomed the initiative, describing it as a positive step toward strengthening the relationship between the student leadership and the student community.
NANS NEWS: TAMARATARE APERE LAUNCHES OFFICIAL ZONE B WEBSITE

In a significant development within the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), the Zone B leadership has officially launched its website in a bid to improve communication, transparency, and accessibility among students within the zone.
The website, launched under the supervision of the Deputy Coordinator, Sen. Comr. Tamaratare Apere, is expected to serve as a digital platform through which students can access information about NANS activities, announcements, programs, and policy initiatives affecting students within the zone.
According to the organisers, the initiative is part of efforts to modernize the operations of the association and ensure that students remain informed about developments within the student body. The platform will also allow students to stay updated on student-related advocacy, events, and educational opportunities coordinated by NANS Zone B.
Observers within the student community have described the development as a welcome step toward strengthening digital engagement and improving communication between student leaders and the student population.
FLOURISH UGANE EYES BOOK LAUNCH

SUG URGES CALM AS BUS FARE SET TO REVERT TO ₦150 WHEN FUEL PRICE FALLS

The Students’ Union Government has urged students of Niger Delta University to remain calm and maintain peaceful relations with transport operators following recent discussions regarding transportation fares within the campus.
The union explained that the temporary adjustment in transport fares was largely influenced by the significant rise in the price of fuel, which has placed financial pressure on campus transport operators.
However, the SUG leadership reassured students that the current situation is temporary and that the transport fare will revert to ₦150 once the price of fuel drops to around ₦1000 per litre.
Student leaders also advised students to avoid confrontations with drivers and transport operators while discussions continue to ensure that transportation within the campus remains accessible and affordable for students.
SPORTS: 2026 NIGER DELTA UNIVERSITY FRESHERS CUP BEGINS TODAY

Excitement is building across Niger Delta University as the much-anticipated Freshers Cup football competition kicks off today at the university pavilion.
The tournament, which is one of the most celebrated sporting events for newly admitted students, is designed to encourage participation in sports while fostering unity and healthy competition among faculties.
The opening fixtures will see the Faculty of Education take on the Faculty of Nursing at 10:00 a.m., followed by a match between BMS and the Faculty of Law at 12:00 noon. Later in the day, the Faculty of Arts will clash with Environmental Sciences in what is expected to be another competitive encounter.
Students from different faculties have expressed enthusiasm ahead of the matches, with supporters preparing to cheer their teams in what promises to be an exciting start to the tournament.
University sports enthusiasts have noted that the Freshers Cup provides new students with an opportunity to showcase their sporting abilities while building friendships and strengthening faculty spirit.
ITEL CAMPUS TOUR BERTHS AT NIGER DELTA UNIVERSITY MARCH 27

Students of Niger Delta University are also preparing for an exciting entertainment event as the ITEL Campus Tour arrives at the institution on March 27, 2026.
The event, scheduled to take place at the New Site Multipurpose Hall by 11:00 a.m., will feature a variety of entertainment activities including music performances, dance competitions, fashion showcases, and a talent hunt segment.
Participants and lucky attendees will stand the chance of winning prizes such as mobile phones, cash rewards, Bluetooth speakers, earpods, and other accessories.
Organisers disclosed that the event is part of a nationwide campus tour aimed at engaging students, discovering young talents, and creating memorable campus experiences.
Entry into the event has been declared free, and students have been encouraged to attend in large numbers to enjoy the entertainment and participate in the competitions.
FACULTY OF NURSING (NUNSA) TO HOST FITNESS WALK

The Faculty of Nursing (NUNSA) is set to organise a fitness walk aimed at promoting healthy living and physical wellness among students.
According to information released by the organisers, the initiative is part of efforts to encourage students to adopt healthier lifestyles through regular physical activity and wellness awareness.
Uriel, who is associated with the initiative, explained that the fitness walk will bring together students from different faculties to participate in a health-focused activity that highlights the importance of exercise and overall well-being.
The event is expected to attract a large number of participants and further strengthen the culture of health awareness within the university community.
