In a bid to ensure the continued improvement of educational infrastructure across Bayelsa State, the Honourable Commissioner for Education, Dr. Gentle E. Emelah, paid a working visit to the Niger Delta University (NDU), Amassoma, this afternoon.

During the visit, Dr. Emelah inspected two key ongoing projects within the institution: the Convocation Arena and the Faculty of Environmental Science Complex. He expressed satisfaction with the progress of work so far and commended the contractors for their efforts. However, he also urged them to accelerate the pace of construction, especially in view of the rainy season, which could pose challenges to timely project delivery.

Speaking to reporters during the tour, Dr. Emelah reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to developing quality infrastructure at all levels of education—primary, secondary, and tertiary. He noted that this drive aligns with the educational vision of the Senator Douye Diri-led administration, which remains dedicated to transforming Bayelsa's learning environment for the better.

“Having quality educational infrastructures in all our institutions remains a critical part of our advancement drive, and we are committed to bringing this vision to fruition,” Dr. Emelah stated.

The visit underscores the government's active monitoring of development projects and its resolve to deliver on promises made to the education sector.
