NDU ICT FLAGS OVER 100 INVALID NELFUND APPLICATIONS
By: Makpokpomi Ejiro
The Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Management of Niger Delta University has raised concerns over more than one hundred invalid applications submitted for the NELFUND student loan scheme.
According to information made available to the Student Union Government (SUG), the affected applications were rejected due to several inconsistencies. These include incorrect matriculation numbers, mismatched National Identification Numbers (NIN), wrong bank account details, and submission of blurry or incomplete admission letters.
Officials explained that the errors made it impossible for the system to verify the applicants’ identities and academic status, leading to automatic rejection during the screening process.
The SUG has therefore urged all students who applied for the loan to immediately log in to their NELFUND dashboards to check their application status. Students whose applications were rejected are advised to correct all errors and re-upload the required documents where necessary.
University sources stressed that the loan scheme remains one of the most significant financial support opportunities currently available to students, and applicants must ensure that all information submitted is accurate and verifiable.
Student leaders also encouraged affected students not to panic, noting that most of the rejections were due to technical or documentation issues that can be corrected.
