The Office of the Director of Welfare of the Student Union Government (SUG) of Niger Delta University has officially launched its Project Five Welfare Agenda with the kickoff of the Shade for You Initiative.
The initiative, which marks the first finger of the Welfare 5-Point Agenda, will see the distribution of portable umbrellas to NDU students. According to the Office of the Director of Welfare, the move is designed to help students navigate the unpredictable Amassoma weather while ensuring they are able to meet up with classes and activities “Whatever, Wherever and Whenever.”
Speaking on the project, the Director of Welfare, Comr. Friday Tamaraubideke Bobo, described the gesture as a symbol of care and support for all students of the institution.
The initiative was also endorsed by the Deputy Vice Chancellors of Administration and Academics respectively and also the CEO of Pulse Chief of Staff and Special Adviser on Projects to the Welfare Director, Comr. Prince Iniobong, who signed off on the official announcement.
The Shade for You Initiative represents the first step in a series of student-centered programs under the broader Project Five agenda, which aims to improve student welfare across multiple fronts in Niger Delta University.
