The Bayelsa State Commissioner for Education, Dr. Gentle Emelah, has given an update on the ongoing construction of the 10,000-capacity Convocation Arena at the Niger Delta University, Wilberforce Island, Amassoma.

Dr. Emelah noted that the project, which is one of the landmark infrastructural developments in the state-owned university, is progressing steadily and will soon stand as a befitting edifice for academic excellence and cultural celebrations.

He lauded the visionary leadership of the Governor of Bayelsa State, His Excellency Senator Douye Diri, describing him as the true champion of Assured Prosperity, whose commitment to education continues to uplift the fortunes of students and the entire academic community.

According to the Commissioner, the convocation arena, when completed, will not only host academic ceremonies but also provide a multipurpose venue for major events, thereby enhancing the visibility and prestige of the university.
